Primary Heat® heating mats are constructed from wide metallic ribbons that cover at least 25% of the floor area (compared to only 1% to 2% in heating cables). This large heat transfer area allows the heating element to operate at very low temperatures, of about 27-28 degrees (compared to the typical temperature range of over 60 degrees at the core of a common heating cable), and still generate the required heat to the surrounding area. The low working temperature allows direct installation of timber, parquet or carpet above the heating mats with no danger of damaging colour, texture or coating of these delicate floor covering, and also saving on energy and labour.

It is less costly and more economic to operate.

Due to the fact that Primary Heat® mats reach the desired working temperature faster, when you need to reach the desired temperature at a given time of day, you may start the activation of the system later than the comparable cable based systems and thus lower operating costs. The heating ribbons transfer all the electrical energy into heat, and as the ribbon thickness is minimal, heat is not stored in the element itself, all heat is dissipated into the surrounding area – again – for superior economic operating costs.

It reaches working temperature faster than other systems.

The large heat transfer area of the heating ribbons and the small distance of the heating element from the floor covering, causes the room temperature to reach the desired value faster than cable systems that are buried deeper into the floor.

It is extremely simple and easy to install.

Just lay the heating mats on the sub-floor, with insulation to stop the downward movement of heat, connect the electrical cables and you are ready to cover the floor with any type of floor covering.

It has low profile and superior flexibility.

The heating ribbon is only 20 microns thick. The total mat thickness, including the double insulation, is not larger than 2.2mm! Therefore it is perfectly suited not only for installation in new buildings, but also for refurbishment projects.

It generates a more even heat.
